anyway.. if bp's can get to breeding size (from baby status) in 2 or 3 years.. then you guys havent seen my lil jackie yet.. LOL she's 2 years old and has only grown eh.. 2 maybe 3 inches since i got her in 2004.. i swear she's not gonna be ready to breed for another 10 years cuz she is growing....... so............. slow.........

I have an 03 female that just hit the 900 gram mark.
There is no way she will be able to breed for at least another 2 years.

Each animal is different.

I go by weight and age. Females must be over 1800 grams and 3 years old.

Males must be at least 1000 grams and 2 years old.

I HATE it when I see people breeding males at 500-600 grams or females at 1000-1200 grams. Take your time, raise them right (without power feeding) and you will have larger, more fertile clutches from older females and the males will mate more successfully.




Oh yeah. I will never have a NERD line animal in my collection.

I have some females that were big enough to breed in little under 2 years. 1600/2000g and thats not over feeding just one rat a week. Then i have one thats an 02 and shes only like 650/700g. She only eats mice she will take a small rat sometimes. Then others she will kill the rat it but wont eat it.
