I've got an 18x18x24 Exoterra and if I didn't already have a trio of cresteds in it I was thinking about turning it into a naturalistic vivarium with day geckos, perhaps with a giant millipede doing cleanup at the bottom. I really miss having a community tank. I used to have a trio of green anoles in NY, but it's illegal to keep them in GA so I no longer have them, but they're an inexpensive and extremely interesting pet. I like them better than the browns. You could probably house a pair of anoles or day geckos in an 18^3.

If you're looking for inexpensive, I would try Bibron's or Crocodile geckos (Pachydactylus bibronii and Tarentola mauritanica). I used to keep a crocodile gecko and thought she was a very interesting and hardy pet. However, both species are nocturnal and don't like handling, so they're for display only. They breed like mad though.

Just keep in mind that your cage is small, so you need small species. At most, you can keep a trio of animals in there depending on size.
