What type of "insurance"?

So its been more than five minutes since I asked a dumb question and I didn't want anyone to think I had dropped off the planet. :p

We've done quite a few informal presentations with our animals at local events and they went over really well.

We've been invited to share our animals at a big library, but the coordinator said she needs a copy of our insurance.

Dumb question number one is:
What kind of insurance is she talking about?

And the other question is:
Where would we find this insurance at?

I've spoken to a couple different places and they have no idea what I'm talking about. Is it a liability insurance?

I believe liability is needed when you do anything on city property. To protect you and cover them. In case your critters like finger food.:)

Thanks, jumper. :) Thats what I thought, but figured I wasn't calling it by the right "term" maybe?
Its been "interesting" to hear the response of some of these insurance agents.
"You want coverage for what? Why??"
Its a bit frustrating. Hopefully someone will understand what is needed and take money to let me do it. :main_rolleyes:
Never known an insurance company to turn down money before. Kinda odd....

Keith used to do educational lessons around town but no one ever asked for insurance. I guess back in the 90's no one was worried about lawsuits! I've never heard of any type of insurance that would cover something like that. Would they consider having attendees sign a liability release waiver.

This was my first encounter with that, too, Mel. The library is firm on needing this insurance, but I can't get any agent or firm to tell me what this is or how I would go about getting it. I have regular insurance on the rescue, but this is apparently something different?

Maybe the contact at the library can explain what kind of insurance they need? I have no idea but let us know what you find out.
