I have a gravid hypo tangerine Het bell albino who mated with a tangerine bell albino. Will the offspring be 50/50 for tang/tang bell? When you have a tangerine bell albino is there actually tangerine genes in it or is it just called that for its deeper orange color? Is it possible for there to be any normals from this combo?
Thank you.

first is male, second is female. You guys think the offspring will look nice?

When you have a tangerine bell and a tangerine het bell, the tangerine bell is homozygous for the bell albino gene. Which means it shows characteristics of the bell strain of albinism. Being that both parents are very similar in appearance I would say you have a great possibility of the babies to look the same. Yes I believe also that you would get 50% tang. bells, 25% tang. het bell, n 25% normal het bells.

A tangerine baby looks like a normal. Tangerine is a Polygenetic trait, which means That the offspring will have various degrees of Tangerine color. It is not a dominant or recessive morph, per say. It's just a color trait that you may or may not see in the babies.

Steve Did explain this to me he was extremely helpful, he advised me to breed this pair. He mentioned sunglows, which is why I asked, but maybe he meant in future generations or something. He did not explain that tang was a polygenic trait, and did not explain how the tang trait works. Other than that he couldn't have been more helpful really great guy!
