sigh... My two new girlies.... are one girlie and one little guy.... I just noticed today. previously I was thinking he was a she. They are not more than 6 months I don't think. Still about half grown. They have been in the same tank. When do I need to separate them? We have other females and one other male.

Can I house the males together? what about a size difference? or should males always be separated?

my baby male stays in his cave... only comes out to potty and eat. My adult male hates his cave and stays in the warm side of his cage...so if I housed them together (if that is possible) I am not even sure they would ever run into each other.

I would suggest to prevent premature breeding and risking your female to retain her eggs because she can't push them out, seperate and don't re introduce untill both of them are atleast 9 months old and over 60 grams.

Cant house two males no matter what. For the most part females can be housed together with one male, But sometimes even females can get into it! So it just depends on how the act towards each other, but if you see any signs of aggression with the females, seperate them. You have to watch them if you do house two different sizes, make sure the smaller ones can still get the same amount of food as the older ones, because sometimes they can be left out. A hungry gecko is a sad gecko. That is my opinion. BUT FOR ONE THING don't house two males. They would end up fighting, and even if they dont. You dont want to risk that.

k thanks.. That pretty much confirms what I was thinking....

this complicates things..LOL We already have 4 tanks. I don't want to have to buy more stuff.. I think I can house two females together since they are in the same bedroom anyway. My kids might not like it but oh well. I can't have early pregnancies plus we are not set up for breeding yet.

going to have to find another name too...bwah....

oh yeah, you can house more than two females, as long as they dont get "fiesty" haha. I dont know if you have one close by, but at ********, they had a pretty cheap 10 gallon, just as a temporary for one of the leos? ******** actually had some decent priced tanks for fish and i found a matching screen for mine. I paid 40 for a 29 gallon tank. which is actually as long as a 35 gallon, but it doesnt have as much height. If that helps at all!

oh no..I think I read everyone's post correctly..LOL I am just not posting clearly.

We have 5 leos. 2 males and 3 females. I thought we had 4/1...not 2/3.

one female is in my son's room because she is his. The other 4 are in my daughter's room.

My cost seems to come into play when I have to buy thermostats, uth, carpets and accessories etc... the tank is the easy part comparatively.

bwah..... My kids..as in Children might not like their leo's sharing. That is what I meant..I can see how my post could be read differently. Sorry to be confusing.

I found a good website to purchase stuff like that...they are much cheaper than my local chain store. I think I have spent at least 300$ on stuff in the past few months apart from food..I have to slow down. I enjoy it too much. Hubby will wonder where the money is going too...LOL I will, of course, figure something else out if my females won't tolerate each other.
