Im planing on buying two leopard geckos at a show in two weeks but can i still make this season? How long should i wait untill i put them togther? Also what size should they be? Thanks
For safe breeding the female should be at least 9 months old and 50 grams.
If you get them from the same place at the show, you can put them together right away as long as the female is big enough to breed.
If you get them from different places (breeders) you need to quarantine them from each other for at least a month.
If the female is, or becomes in time, the right size for breeding and ovulates you will be able to breed them this season. I have had successful breeding with a new female in late August.
If you have kept geckos before, and can provide incubator, containers, housing and food (and medical care if necessary) for the breeders and the babies then you should consider breeding.
If you have not kept geckos before, you should consider breeding next year, not this year.
