When to breed?

I've heard that you shouldn't breed a female until she is ovulating and you can see white spots or something in her belly. I've successfully bred a good amount of geckos with just putting the females with the males randomly. Do you guys use this technique?

I introduce the males to the females in mid-January. They won't breed until the female ovulates, so if she's not ovulating then, nothing will happen but I figure that it's likely getting to be that time and that possibly the male's presence will encourage ovulation. So far all the males I have seem to be able to respond well to the females saying "no" so no one's gotten banged up.

Make sure your geckos are old/big enough to breed first. Females should weigh at least 50 grams and be around a year old, while males will be OK a little younger and smaller.

I do not put the males in with my females until I see that the female is ovulating to avoid unneccesary stress on them.
