When to feed?

My Gecko is around 7" long now and I think some call it a juvenile because it's not anywhere near a year old yet.

Some say feed every other day and some everyday.

I have been feeding mine every day. She eats 2 med to large crickets and sometimes...... a couple of mealworms I leave in her tank.

She stays in her cool hide all day and really does not come out of her hide till late at night. I'm not really sure she gets in her hot hide to help digest what she ate. So I don't see her active.

Also...... can the temp be an issue related to activity and eating?

If she's still interested in food every day then it's OK to feed her every day. My feeding schedule for adults ranges from every day for hungry egg-laying females to every 3 days for geckos not interested in food (most of mine, still, at the moment).

You may want to check the floor temperatures inside the warm hide to make sure they aren't too high for her. Generally a gecko will thermoregulate and go to the part of the tank with the temperature they need but it's possible that the proper temperature isn't in your tank.

I'm thinking about not using the red heat bulb anymore and just see what happens. If I am keeping the warm side to hot it might be making her stay on the cool side and less active.
