when to pip

How do you know when its time to pip an egg? Got one that has benn dented for 3 going on 4 days. And what is the best method? Thanks in advance.

I recommend just waiting till it hatches or molds and smells.

Gotta agree with Aliza. I've seen a couple posts from people who thought an egg was bad to find out there was a baby still forming.
