Yes -sorry I am getting a little impatient, first timer here:main_yes: I have a female who mated with a male 23 days ago, at that time the ovulation was very small, I now see eggs (have for about 2 weeks) and her tummy looks like pics people have posted here of their females who layed in a day or two? She has been digging for 3-4 days. The past 2 mornings I have checked her lay box and seen big mounds of cocofiber, gotten excited, but still no eggs:main_no:. Does it at least sound like she is close?

Can you post a pic? I am taking daily pics of 2 of my females (and posting them on here), so I will try to compare to my females.

I am guessing that it is possible for her to have been in the process of "absorbing ovules/eggs" when she mated 23days ago. If that is correct, then you have to wait until she finished reabsorbing them and then wait a "full egg-development cycle."

I am also a first-year-rookie, but it worries me that she has been digging for 2 days and hasn't laid yet. This might be normal, but my worry-some mind is scared that she may be "egg-bound" and isn't able to push them out.

Again, pics will definitely help...and what is her current and previous weight?

I have had my best luck in taking ovule/egg pics by:

-turn off camera flash
-be sure to use a camera..most phones don't pick up as many shades of white
-take pics in a room with soft white light...SOFT .... WHITE.

With the above setting, you can move your gecko around the room to find an angle that the camera can see the different shades of the white belly. I even take a few pics in a darker room and get decent results...I will post 2 pics I took/uploaded recently with a 5year old 10megapixel camera (which is probably considered obsolete by today's quality of digital cameras). :)

20140315_015549-1-1.jpg Well woke up at 1:30am, and found eggs:D of course they were not in either moist lay box, but on the hot side where she lays to get warm. Not sure about the viability they seemed kind of soft/leathery, but I also think they were just laid. I put them in a deli cup with hatchrite, and in the incubator which I have had going for about 2 weeks in anticipation- we'll see. I know many 1st clutches are infertile, I'm just glad she laid them!
