One of my new breeders laid an egg this morning- I had originally figured it to be a dud since this is her first year, and she laid the egg *behind* the lay box. (And there's only 1). Her previous 2 were duds and both laid behind the lay box as well, which must have taken some gymnastics! However, to my surprise, on candling there is a bullsye; but the way it was laid, I have no idea which side "should" be up; is it arbitrary this early in the game, or what? I currently have it marked for the side that was up when I found it, but that is the opposite side from the bullseye. Any advice/opinions? It seems to me that up is probably negotiable until the embryo forms more, but I would appreciate more educated opinions than mine!
