I've taken 10 month old Lizzie to 2 different vets. $500 later, still not sure what's wrong. First, she stopped eating, but looked healthy. #1 vet gave us that A/D food to hand feed her (after he flung her across the room when she bit him). 2nd vet dewormed her, took digital xrays. Xrays did not show MBD, no blockages, but did see "grape like" cluster. Ovulating? Possibly. Gave me Oxbow Carnivore Care to hand feed her. Insisted I get a UV light just in case it is lack of calcium.
Now, Lizzie is still not eating (2 months), can barely keep her eyes open, sleeps all the time. Has developed white lumps on her elbows and feet (which are pink/purplish and swollen). Has not pooped in about 2.5 weeks. She recently shed, but did not take it off herself, so I had to do it.
I've been giving her warm soaks, feeding her the oxbow, using the UV. I am having a lot of trouble regulating the temps of the UTH. It ranges from 88-94 on the warm side, to about 74 on the cool side. Paper Towel substrate, hide on warm side, humid hide with moss inside, hammock. The vet told me to put a lay box in the tank also, filled with shredded newspaper, but I'm inclined to take it out cause it takes up a lot of room.
Any thoughts?
