Today my daughter's gecko has kind of turning white all over. does this mean it will shed soon? Too much calcium?

Also, how does every one keep the humidity up in their aquariums?

Yes, it means that it will shed soon. You can make a humid hide for it out of a food storage container. Just cut a hole in the top or side and put a moist paper towel in it.

well have a look at you tube, you will find a lot of shedding videos giving you an idea on how leos look like before shedding, but obviously every morph will look a little different. They turn white/greyish a little like washed to often with to aggressive detergent :)

Make sure you have a humid hide so your leo will have no issues shedding. Mist it every day, but make sure it does not mold. In general for leos it is about keeping humidity down in the terrarium. They are desert animals.

sorry just one addition ... I meant mist the substrate in your humid hide, not your leo ;-)

Just made a little hide with some damp moss. Look at the gecko, and he is shedding. It is starting at his head.

He was done shedding in about an hour. Do geckos eat their shed skin? because I can't find it.

When it is done shedding just check to make sure there are no old pieces of skin stuck. If so you can use a moist q-tip or cotton ball to help get it off.
