I'm really starting to get concerned and will be calling my vet tomorrow.. But I'd like to hear if anyone else has encountered this.
One of my females, about a year old, was bred to a male at the weight of 55 grams about a month ago. She plumped up real quick, and soon after the eggs came. Right away I knew something was wrong.
She laid one egg in the water dish and it was half goey and, well, certainly unhealthy looking. Since then her health has been declining steadily.. Her second egg came, this time laid on the ground, same goey, strange, unhealthy looking egg. By now she was certainly looking thinner.. But I figured that perhaps she was calcium deficient, or maybe it was just because her it was her first clutch. Needless to say, I didn't have any intentions of breeding her again this season.
Couple of days later, I find her water dish again, this time filled with this strange white, cloudy goop. Day later, there's a bit of goop on the ground.. And today there's a puddle of this goop on top of her laybox. Along with all of this, she has been losing weight and has eaten very little.
I'm totally puzzled. When she was bred she was a plump, healthy little girl.. And now she's 45 grams, still alert and active, but there's definitely something strange going on..
