I feed mostly meal worms to my leos and a few crickets a couple time a week but tonight I was feeding one of my geckos and she took the cricket and when she bit into it the contence burst out into her water bowl and it looked like there were a bunch of little worms in it.

Who all do you use for buying crickets? I use bassetts cricket ranch. Have any of you had problems with them or anyone else?
If they are worms should I start deworming w/ panacure?
I probably should take a stool sample to my vet.

Yeah I would take a few stool samples to the vet to be tested. If it comes out positive I would complain to the company and ask to be reimbursed for the last shipment and vet costs. They might do it or might not but it's worth the try.

The tiny white worms you see in the crickets are actually quite common, and are a type of pinworm that is difficult, if not impossible, to avoid. These pinworms are infecting the crickets and will not infect your gecko, although many people (including some vets) think so.

Pinworms have a direct life cycle, meaning they do not need an intermediate host, and therefore cannot infect the crickets and the gecko at the same time since they are at a different stages of development.

If you are worried about it, I will give you Dr. Harkewicz's email address and perhaps he can explain it better to you.

If they can't infect the gecko when they are eaten. When do they infect the gecko? Or is is that this particular pinworm doesn't affect leos?
