Thats actually a bit of a misconception. Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and several other northern states are far from dry in the winter. Why do you think we get so much snow up here?

I agree, but the AIR gets extremely dry up here.
I think the cry baby (and I say that good humor :main_laugh:) Floridians are talking about the humidity.
I think they mean that not only is it cold there, but they somehow manage to still have wet air.

LOL! I am a proud cry baby when it gets cold in FL!
And yes, I do mean the humidity. Rebecca said it right. I know it is "wet" up there to have snow, but you will only know what I am talking about if you come down here and experience it for yourself. Its a moist wet air, cold feeling. Its different than snow. I dont know how to explain it.
I had two people come ride my horses yesterday and they were from Maine. They were miserably cold too! And they said it just feels different than the northern type cold.
Oh, and I dont doubt that it is cold up there. There is a reason why I am not in those mentioned states, Maurice! =P

i dont like sweating so i like the cold. i can't stand the hot&humid summers here. and it is a different cold from down here to up north, i have been up north in the snow in the winter and i found it quite nice just as i do this. i like seeing and feeling different seasons and yes for no skeeters right now which is sooooo nice. lol. our house gets full of them or no see ums lol. and for once our room isn't 100 degrees its actually comfortable. i have also been up north in the summer where it felt like florida up there, i am talking about new hampshire and vermont with the winter and summer thing. i loved it up there though i wish the summer was slightly cooler but once we left my grandparents said it went back down on temps again its like gee thats nice we took the weather with us.
