Why would I want a gecko that needs to eat more, needs a bigger tank, and looks obese?
I prefer the geckos that eat the usual amount, a regular space, and looks normal weight.

Correct me if I'm wrong but a real giant is much longer than a normal gecko and therefore handles the extra weight quite well without looking obese. They have a long and lanky appearance generally even when they approach the 100 gram mark.

most of the ones i have seen latly are far from obese. they are definatly long but not obese.they may be big and heavy but agian the length is helping to even it out. i agree and think they are def becoming a bit more popular again. it would be cool to see them make the come back but to be certain they are giants i agree many breeders may hold them back to be sure of what they are selling are giants.

This is untrue. My giants eat the same, and are housed in the same size enclosures. They do not require any special treatments. If you think they look obese thats your opinion..I myself dont think so..Beastie yes...obese...No way.:)
