So we were just at the grocery store. This girl dragging along her 2 year old quickly looks me up and down and says, "Fake Louis" under her breath as she passes. A comment in reference to my purse which actually isn't fake, I bought it at the Louis Vuitton store last week. I wouldn't have even noticed her if it hadn't been for catching the dirty look as I was looking past her.
I guess it bothers me because after listening to story after story on the news about MLK day and how Houston needs to be less racially divided a black girl makes a rude comment to me in the store where I am the minority. What if I walked around the store giving people dirty looks and telling them their handbags were fake? I thought of plenty of things I could have said in response to her comment but instead I just kept walking. Now I'm the one that's irritated even though I know I should just let it go. I hate this stupid city....
