6 months he shouldnt be in with a female , he is too young to breed and not mature. he is probably stressed being put into a new situation.

i've heard of younger geckos mating successfully. it's more about the animal's size/weight than age when considering reptiles.
maybe the 'girl' isn't a girl.
maybe the girl isn't ready.
maybe she's just a ((^%

lol.
good luck!

a male that is 6 months is not an adult male. How much does it weigh ? just because your other male is ready to mate does not meen this one is. If it runs away and dont make mating-contact with the female he is not ready - put him back into his own inclosure they wont mate, try again in a few months when he is bigger.

Sometimes they just need more time....it's not always a "wham bam thank you mam" type of thing...they need more time to romance each other...robin taught me this and it is 100% correct...if he's at least 55 grams i'd go ahead and leave him in there with her, as long as she's definately ovulating

Why would you want to breed 5-6 months old leos? How old is your girl? Is there any reason you don't want them to grow to their full potentials before you start breeding them? Are you ready for all the babies?

I agree with gothra leo does want to mate, the body may be stunted by the stressed early breeding. Though that may be more of an issue with females. Also, if she is a fully mature female leo, she may think he's a scrawny punk if he's young. Your enthusiasm is great, but it's ok if he's intimidated by an older woman. Same happens in other animals.
