Wild Crickets and Wood Roaches

We don't pesticide our lawn and live in a wooded area. We have a good population of wood roaches and crickets. Just for variety would it be that detrimental to feed my Gecko one, one time?

There's a guy on the forum here (Bronx Zoo Frank) who posts stuff regularly from his blog. Some time within the past few months, he published something (he always posts on the forums and links to his blog) about the advantages of using wild-caught feeders, so you may want to try to find that post on here.
