I'm writting a leopard gecko compendium for our polish site terrarium.com.pl. I want to hear your opinions about winter simulation before breeding. Is it helpful? Maybe it is wrong? Do you practise it?
I don't brumate my leopard geckos, but sometimes they brumate themselves. Many of them hardly eat during the winter and some of them curl up in the hides on the cool side and sleep for most of the winter. I see no difference in egg production between the geckos that stop eating and brumate and those who don't.
i dont do it if anything it makes it worse because they dont start eating for a while after you take them out of it if you ask me it makes NO difference i didnt do it and i have 4 hatchlings so far this year and 2 females that might lay tonight and 5 eggs in the incubator so in my way i dont think it makes a difference
