I have scanned over some geckos and cave geckos have really put me thinking if I should begin the real research to get this gecko. I am new to lizards but I have a snake. I don't need to be able to handle it all the time or ever. So I am wondering should I consider getting a cave gecko?

Well I am biased but I love cavies.....
They are relatively easy to keep, I keep mine at normal UK 'room temps' and provide lots of hides and cover with cork bark and tubes for them to climb and hide in.
I feed them mostly on dubia roaches, sometimes crickets/mealies and they seem to do well. They aren't a species you will see at all during the day and to watch them at night a very low level red light is best. Any bright light and they will go back to cover. I also do not handle mine, though I know one or two people who do, I find mine don't really like to be handled so I leave them alone.

Go for it after doing some research I say !

Do you have any tips or caresheets. And could you be a bit more specific with "at normal UK room temps" because I live in northeastearn america and the temps here fluctuate a lot. Also could you please tell me a bit about the humidity because I have never had an animal which needs it. Thanks

My temps at the moment range from high 50F to low 70's F. Humidity should be maintained around 60 to 80 percent, I spray once or twice a day to keep these levels. In winter (now) the cavies slow down but this is not a bad thing.

In summer my temps go up to mid 80s and this is the top 'comfortable' end. Cavies tend to stress if subjected to too much heat for prolonged periods, they should certainly have cooler/moist areas available at all times.

The various species do have a wide range of temps, some need it warmer than others but as long as it isn't getting down too low they will be OK.
