Some of you may have read my other thread asking how it was possible for Tiamat to not have pooped in over a week even though she has now eaten two supers and a bit of slurry. (She had stopped eating and I needed a stool sample for the vet so I had to give her slurry.) She is off the slurry now since she had a rather large super the other day. But she still has not defecated. She has not even passed a urate.

She looks and acts healthy. There is no discoloration in her abdomen. Her belly is nice and pink, and I believe I see that darker pink spot coming back again. It had gone away for a bit but now I can almost see it. I would assume the dark pink spot is an indication that she is ovulating which explains her lack of appetite.

I have tried the warm bath. She was in the warm water for about 10 mins, and she didn't like it one bit. I've also given her olive oil. I had given her mineral oil about a week ago and she didn't produce anything.

If the olive oil doesn't work, what should I do? I can't imagine her holding it in all this time. I've looked all over her tank to make sure she hasn't changed her potty spot and nothing. And I know she's been shedding because last night when I checked on her, she had bright new skin and some stuck shed on a claw which I gently removed.

Should I take her to the vet for a colon cleanse or what??

Also, I did do a search on this subject before I posted this but I couldn't find anything conclusive. Most people got their geckos to poo and some threads just ended.

If she isnt losing noticeable weight, I wouldnt worry about the vet. Just give her some time. My female wouldn't eat, poop or pass urates for a little over 3 weeks about 2 months ago. she would stay in her hides and not be active at all. I believe it was due to her enduring the breeding season and ovulating for the first time seeing that she is just now a year old.

If she is staying the same visible body weight just give her some time, she will eat eventually. :)

Make her climb more; I think the movement will help. I've seen some of my geckos do the glass dance right before they poop.

Yes I've noticed the majority of mine will do the "glass dance" right before they let loose...pretty interesting to watch.

And I'm glad Tiamat finally pooped fer ya, yay! :main_thumbsup:

lol Neither of mine "glass dance", but Mandarin climbs all over her tank before finding the right spot. She's so messy.

And thank you. :)

Actually a nice warm soak will help move the poop chute.
