Won't quit pooping in warm hide

So my little buddy has decided he likes to poop where he sleeps. He just won't stop pooping in his warm hide. I've tried moving his hide all over the tank...but alas, to no avail. He wont go boom boom anywhere else. Any suggestions before I stick him in a little gecko sized diaper?

Thanks :)

you may have to buy or build another hide. My leo INSISTS of pooping in the lcoconut hide I have in there, I even moved it to the other side of the tank... she went right to it to do her business.

I've experienced this before. And I found a simple solution that works for me.

Pick up some of your Leo's droppings. Once you have a few, put them in a pile where you would prefer them to go to the bathroom. Just keep it there overnight, and they will go where it is.
Be sure to take it out ASAP though to keep it sanitary.

This is just something that worked for me, so it may not work for others.
Hope this helps.

I agree... move some of it to another side of the tank where you would prefer them to go and hopefully they will start to go there. If not then they have already made their pooping spot and probably wont want to change it.

My gecko used to poo in his warm hide too. I took out the warm hide and washed it very, very thoroughly. Then I took it out and replaced it with another hide. After a while, my gecko found another spot in his cage. When I put the hide back in, he didn't poo in it again.

I think it is funny how most of my geckos prefer to deficate in one corner of the bins... I think it has alot to do with the heat gradient in the bins or whatever you house your leos in...

I guess that explains why when two geckos are housed together they will usually go in the same place!

Reminds me of an earlier post where someone asked if they influence each other. Looks like there's some truth in that concept!

I have 1 gecko that climbs to the highest point in her cage to poop. Another that will only poop on top of the tree in his. As his caretaker, you're going to have to bend on this one. Set up another hide. Personally, I wish I had a heated seat too!
