wooden cages are ok right? i was planning on making one out of 1/2 inch plywood, using glass or scratch resistant plexi-glass for the front and a screen lid for the top. Will i be ok on attaching heating pads or heating tape to tiling underneath for surface warmth? Also does anyone have any experience on keeping live plants in the cage?

I’m using a wood cage, for my pet gecko right now. All most the exact same set-up, as what you are talking about. Except I have lights on the top, and tile on the bottom. The tile just absorbs the heat from the lights, so she gets both belly and top heat. I don’t keep plants in that enclosures though, I do in a frog enclosure though, I just use a plant light, and that is it.

well i was considering something along the lines of a desert lotus as they don't require a lot of water so it will help keep the humidity, aesthetics mostly. once i get the basic structure complete ill work out an enviromental control system such as thermostat and timed lights. It will be my main tank that will house my current female and any future females i add to my collection. If my male behaves himself he can join her.
