I have spent ages trying to get my leo, banana, to eat something other the brown crickets so I can provide her with a varied diet. I tried superworms and mealworms but she wasn't interested.. I tried everyday for a week. Today, I bought waxworms.. which was my last choice as they are fatty, but she won't eat anything else. I was going to get locust originally but the shop charged like £2.50 for 5/6 locust.. which is ridiculous.

Anyway, she ate the wax worm :D I was sooo happy ^ ^

Congrats! That is what I have recommended to a couple on here. My recommendations were shot down but I see that waxies have worked for you! I am so happy for you. Just try to work in the crickets between waxworm feedings (like you plan on doing.) so that you have a chance to get your leo to switch food when it needs to. Also, remember to keep the portions under control when feeding wax worms. Good luck to you!

My feeding routine is: (starts monday)
monday: 3/4 crickets (dusted with kimono live feed dust)
tuesday: no feeding
wednesday: 3/4 crickets (no dusting)
thursday: no feeding
friday: 3/4 crickets (dusted)
saturday: no feeding
sunday: 2 waxworms :D

it's probably rubbish.. but i don't know how many crickets they are supposed to eat in one helping. help me out? :D

I did see the vid! So cute!
Is your gecko an adult? I feed only mealworms and I feed each of my geckos anywhere from 5-10 mealworms every other day or every three days.

But basically you can feed anywhere from 3-10 crickets per feeding. Whatever you prefer, if you want more weight on the gecko, feed closer to 10. If you want to maintain the weight, feed anywhere from 3 to 6 crickets per feeding. Did that help at all? Let me know! I hope I helped! :main_thumbsup: :main_yes:

And no, it is not a bad diet. I mean, they eat bugs! LOL! But it has a nice variety to it. Nothing that completely changes eveyday but you throw in the two waxies which gives them something to enjoy.

haha :D thanks. and yes, she's just over a year old. That's all the pet shop told me, because she was one of three leos that a hobbyist breeder brought in.. they don't have any details or anything. :( which is a shame :/ I wanted to find out more about her genetics.

Ohh, that's great then :D I'll give her six crickets each feeding :D I always wanted to but I was worried it was too much and that she'd get overweight.

I mean, if you notice her getting bigger you can cut back on the number of crickets. It is just experimenting until you find the right amount.
