:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D Orion laid her first egg last night!!! And she FINALLY ATE after 2months of not eating!!!! I've got the egg on perlite w/ temps at 81*. I CAN'T WAIT!!!! My babygirl is totally excited too and so is hubby!
And I know people say that momma geckos just lay their eggs and walk away but I thought Orion was going to try and take my finger off when I went to take her out of the moist hide to get the egg out lol. She kept lunging at my hand, scrambled around the tank watching me while I had the hide out and then ran back into the hide and promptly lay back down where the egg had been. :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

I am so excited for you! I know what your feeling with that first egg. Can you see another egg in Orion?
I agree with you wholeheartedly about mother geckos and their eggs. It is written that they don't care about them after they lay them, I beg to differ with them on that one. Good luck to you and yours! Keep us posted.

Now you get to wait another 55-60 days to be excited all over again. Happy for you, and good luck. Hope it produces an awesome baby for you.

awww!
Congrats!
I have a female that never left the lay box area after she laid her eggs.
If it was feeding time, and she laid her eggs (but I didn't know because she buried them), I would have to feed her with the tongs because she wouldn't leave the top of the lay box.
I began to know she laid eggs by this behavior.:D

hah all of my females guard their eggs. And when I take them out and smooth over the substrate in the lay box they dig it all up again in a frantic search for their eggs. It's cute lol
