hello! i'm new here but i really am worried about my leopard gecko, rigby. this morning i woke up for work and when i came downstairs, the lid to his enclosure was on the floor and the lining in his cage was all scrunched up... with no rigby to be found. i panicked and truly thought i was gonna have to start searching for a blood trail since i knew my cat has been fixated on him ever since we brought her home a year ago. (we've had rigby for about 5-6 years now)i turned to see her sitting, looking up at me like there was nothing wrong and my gecko on the floor right in front of her. there was no blood, no injuries it seemed at a glance, but when i picked him up his mouth was gaping open and i'm not entirely sure if he was just very angry or if she had hurt his jaw. there seems to be a lump on either side underneath his jaw so i am under the impression that she maybe picked him up by the neck and broke it. :^( rigby has never been aggressive with me or anyone and there's never been a single bite. that's why i can't figure out if the mouth wide open was because he was hurt or because he was just really, really pissed.my mom checked up on him while i was at work and said he seemed fine and moved into his rock. i'm so worried that he's in pain or suffering :^( i'm taking him to the vet on thursday but i was just looking for another opinion on the matter. i might be freaking out for nothing!

If he's moving normally and eating he's probably fine. I once caught one of my geckos that had gotten out parading around the kitchen with both cats scared to death! Keep an eye on him and see how he does.
