So I took him out last night. He seemed fine with me petting his head- he responded just how he had before by resting his head down and closing his eyes. His movements are odd. Like I cant even explain it. He moves very slowly too. Similar to a chameleon i suppose would be my best similarity. Very erratic and jolty. His tail was constantly wagging too which i guess is understandable....Boy what a life he must of had...Any thoughts to why he's moving so odd? Like he's pained to move at all.... Calcium deficiency?

Definitely get him beefed up on calcium! If you have any drops from the vet, it would be good to do the MBD routine as a countermeasure since he's been without supplements for a year. His behavior is going to be odd until he readjusts to his comfy enclosure and gets secure with a regular food source. He may be looking over his shoulder for predators too.

WAYYYY ahead of ya. His water has liquid calcuim in it and every meal ive offered him was dusted with calcuim. He's definatly watching his back...tho we really dont have much preditors here in MN. Shrews or mice would be his biggest threat. We have garter snakes tho but there very scarce where i am.

I figured you were on track with calcium :) If he made it outside, there were birds that would snap him up in a blink, as well as cats, etc.

If he had made it outside i dont think he'd have went into our crawl place. We're thinking he some how managed to get into the main bedroom and went down our heating vents and ended up down there. We THINK obviously. I have no way of knowing 100% since only he knows.

Wow hes just amazing! He's tamed down- to the point he was before- he's named spit fire for a reason!- and eating like a C-H-A-M-P. Only time he'll refuse food is if i....dust it._. I've been sneeky bout it-dusting half there bodies but he's catching on. I have calcium in his water as the vet said to do. he's also keeping that constant in shed look when he infact isnt going to shed. But thought id give a little update one Spit fire, the gecko who survived a year then was found looking great~

That's awesome :)

My thoughts exactly. Its amazing how these little guys can handle such hardship and still come back. I know a mammal would have died or probably wouldnt have trusted another human. He's put on 6.5 grams already and is a happy camper. I dunno if my "pampered pet geckos" would have handle it the same. Spit Fire came from a crappy pet store so he was used to the hardship. lol. Im curious to see if he grows more. He's a real stinker with the calcuim but his wobbling legs has finally stopped:D He's walking, eating, Pooping and acting like a normal gecko again.
