I have been trying to find some large sized silk worms as replacement for crickets but so far I can only find small or mini ones. These are no where close to being worth it. My leo eats 4-5 crix and 2-3 waxies a night right now and those small and mini silkworms are only like 1/8"-1/4" long and not very fat either. Does anyone know where to find bigger silkworms or maby even how to breed them?

http://www.mulberryfarms.com/orders.htm or other places online have large silkworms for sale. I personally don't know any local stores that sell them, at least to my knowledge yet, I try asking around though. For now, if you do a search for silkworms, I'm sure there are many reliable places where you can order silkies

I have done a google search and all the places I saw were either sold out or only had small/mini. matter of fact it was mulberryfarms that had small/mini cups but were all out of medium and large. I was just trying to see if anyone on here was feeding large ones 1"-1.5" ones and where they got them.

Butter Worms (Trevo Worm )

The new live food for reptiles !

The Trevo Worm is the soft-bodied larval stage of the Chilean Moth...like Waxworms! only butterworms have more than twice the Calcium content of almost all other feeder insects.

They have a natural fruity aroma that attracts all reptiles and can be stored in the refrigerator at 50 degrees F for up to 4 months!

Most places sell silkworm "chow" in either ready to go form or dried and you can cook it up yourself. Alternatively, you can find a mulberry tree this summer and pick your own. I have a mulberry tree in my neighborhood and in the summer I pick several bags of leaves and put them in the freezer till I need them.
