:main_thumbsup: Well, I'm getting a loooooong overdue promotion. Starting next week I'll be the store manager. Lucky for me, my boss is VERY understanding about Cadence, and my schedule will still be as flexible as needed so that there is someone always around to watch her.

:main_thumbsdown: Bad news, I'm not getting a raise ... yet. The store just had it's worst month in 15 years. Sales are literally down 50%. So...I may be in charge of a sinking ship. Somehow, I have to bring sales back to a manageable level (IE: stay open level), and lay some smack-down on some really lazy workers. The store has been without a manager for about 2 years now, and it's been nothing but down hill. My boss thought he could manage it while only being in store for 2 hours a week, and run 3 other stores at the same time. Yea...I told him...but he had to learn for himself.

So, I have my work cut out for me! Wish me lots of luck, and send me any spare cans of whoop-*** you might have around.

Tip are greatly appreciated!

As for tips, Keith said, "Never take wooden nickles". I'm not sure how helpful he is sometimes, lol. I think you'll do fine. Maybe you just need to do a little hiring and firing to get things back on track. Good luck!

I do make a public apology for the use of the profanity that was in my post. Hopefully no one was offended. Won't happen again

Speaking of that cutie girl of yours - where's the pictures? I've been swamped and not around as much so I'd love to see a recent shot or two...

My youngest just turned 4 and check out his muscles:p

Ahhhh... it's the old "more responsibility and no extra pay" promotion! If anyone can do the job, it's you, Shanti!

It's actually not going to be too much more than what I already do. I've been doing my best to put out fires for awhile now. The HUGE difference is going to be the previously said employees who never listened because they didn't have to (cuz I'm not the boss) will now have 2 choices - shape up or ship out. Add a bit more paperwork, and there you go. Oh yea ... and I get to tell rude customers where to stick it (I wish).

Even though I don't pay the bills, I do know a lot of the business costs, and I know he's telling the truth when he says there's no money there for a raise. We're hammering out performance bonuses, and a raise will be coming as soon as it's possible. Lucky for me, my boss really IS a good guy, and has always come through for me in the past when he said he would.

Agenda #1 - SHOW UP ON TIME! I looked over the last two weeks, and the "most on time" employee only came in on time twice. Everyone else was worse. Yea....this is gonna be fun.

Joyce - I'll have to take pictures really soon. Anyone who went to NARBC Dallas can tell you she's HUGE (and as cute as pie). She's 19lbs and 4 1/2 months old. We went out last night and had every waitress in the place stop by and say something. One person said she should be in commercials - LOL.

good luck with your new responsibilities and as soon as you lay the law down people will start to resent you and your authority, plus they may still not listen to you.they will test the waters so to speak.

Yea...and I'm dreading it. But, I am famous in my family for how stubborn I can be when I put my mind to something. They can try, but I'm going to be the one winning. LOL
