Woohoo! The size of that mouse was snack-sized...no wonder she wanted more! Did Derek have her eating rats before? BPs are notorious for being a pain in the rear about switching. Did you try the "rat dance"? The food item should be about as thick (or slightly thicker) than the fattest part of her. Check out how small the mouse looks now. LOL

I bet you were jumping for joy!

Oh, I just thought...try scenting the rat with a mouse next time. Put them in a bag together and let them rub around. That could help. Or, feed a mouse and follow it with the rat. Sometimes they're so excited about the next snack they don't know what they're eating til too late.

lol Derek had her on f/t rat pups. I went with small rats, and considering how big that mouth was eating that mouse, she should have no problem with the small rat. Personally I think f/t are gross looking, I'd think live anything rats or mice would look more appealing to me if I were a snake too. LOL

You should have seen the way she was looking at me after the first mouse. It was kind of like "UUMMMM you look like food!!"

Thank you Brandy.

Yeah the seem to have to work on getting past the shoulders then it all goes down pretty fast.

I got my camera ready while holding the mouse by the tail, then forgot that I was using my hands to feed her and I was a little leary about her getting the mouse and not my hand.

It's really up to you... but if it was eating f/t rats before you got her I wouldn't switch her over to live mice. Mice are a pain... they bite, smell and are not as filling as f/t rats. Also you wouldn't want her deciding she'll only eat mice. Just a thought..
