Yes, another question on feeding

So, I seem to be reading a lot of conflicting advice.

I have a baby (maybe 2 months old) leo that I adopted from Petco last weekend (her pictures are in my introduction).

I've got mealworms and crickets for her. I don't know when she was last fed, but when I first gave her crickets the first night she was home, she ate 5 in about 10 minutes. She wasn't eating mealies, but would eat crickets with vigor each time they were offered.

So, I put a mealie inside her humid hide with her, she saw it and ate it. Since then, she's loving her mealies but turning her nose up to crickets.

I know that they should get a varied diet, and I see some people feed crickets as treats, and some feed as a regular part of their diet, and most of the people I've read leave mealies available at all times - correct?

So, I really don't care for the crickets, and she doesn't seem to care for them now that she's tasted the mealies.

Can she be fed on a diet of just meal worms, or a diet of different types of worms?

What's best for a growing baby? I do gutload both the crickets and mealies and dust the food with the Leo Dust and she has a dish of Calcium without D3 available at all times.

Feeding a varied diet is always best but feeding a staple of cricks or mealies is fine to. Yea its usaully best to leave a small dish of mealies in the cage for babies. It sounds like your doing good, good luck :)

If you want variety and she won't eat crickets, you could also try roaches, superworms (maybe when shes a little bigger), silkworms, waxworms(as a treat only), etc. There are many more options also that you can look into. What you can do, is leave mealies in at all times, but maybe for one night take the dish out and give her crickets instead. She may be hungry enough that she will just eat them. Mine seems to love crickets because she loves chasing after them, but she is on a staple of mealies. I hate roaches too much to try them, but many people prefer them. Hope this helps a little.

Crickets stink. Literally. So if you are only giving them as a treat now & then you are in luck. Remember to give your mealies some type of veggie (thin slices) or fruit so that they have a way to get moisture. My guy likes both, but has yet to dine on mealies at the dish. I have to drop them in front of him.

Well my female leo eats everything she sees... (shes quite chunky), Mealworms, crix, superworms, waxies, silkworms/moths ect. My male wont eat anything but superworms. You can feed a leo solely on crix, mealworms, or supers as long as you dust them with vitamins ect, but i like to treat my female with goodies (waxies/silkies).
