For the past 5 days my leo has been acting... odd. After her last shed (6 days ago) she has not been quite herself at all. She has began 'glass digging' at the corners and back wall, she seems to always be in a rush which is very opposite her usual laid back demeanor. She also has a new obsession with climbing on top of everything... multiple times in a row. She has become quite friendly, and seems to want to be held constantly... she has always handled well but has never rushed up to meet me before, until now. Most disturbing of all, at least to me, is the fact that she will not eat. She has shown no interest in feeders at all for the past 5 days... usually she is quite a pig.
I feed a staple diet of mealworms with the occassional cricket, but she isn't much of a hunter so I don't feed crickets on a regular basis. She also gets a weekly treat of a waxworm... which she won't even touch now. She would usually eat 10-15 insects daily, has maintained a nice healthy weight and is growng very well. I have not changed her tank in any way, except to clean daily of course, so I can't quite figure out why she is behaving like she is in new surroundings again...
She is about 8-9 months old, so I know she should slow down her eating habits as she ages... which could be part of the situation I suppose...
I've also noticed alot of talk about seasonal changes resulting in slower eating... the temperate has dropped quite a bit the past few days... but should she be slowing down this much?
The only thing that I have changed is the fact that I no longer handle her on a daily basis, as my college and work schedule do not always allow for it. I do handle her at least every 2-3 days... could the change in schedule be throwing her off?
How long should I wait before becoming worried about her apparent lack of appetite?
