My female (Gutlei) ate 6 mealworms last night!!! Yes, SIX mealies after FIVE whole months of not wanting to eat!
Actually, I'm going through the same thing once every year
... Since I don't breed my geckos, when some of my females ovulate, they stop eating for months. The past years, both Bambi and Gutlei stopped eating completely (Whitie still eats but much less than usual); this year, I don't know if this is related, but I moved all my females to another room away from the males, and only Gutlei stopped eating, Bambi continues to feed as usual.
During the 5 months (from Dec 10!), if she didn't eat for 2 weeks+, I'll feed her a bit of mealworm + baby food mixture, so she has something in her stomach. Her weight dropped from 81g to 62g (-23%). Even though she isn't eating and has lost some weight, she isn't lethargic at all, she still climbs on her wood and comes out from her hide when we walk into the room.
I left 10 mealies in a dish with her last night, I really wasn't expecting much, but was so thrilled to see only 4 mealies are left this morning! I'm so happy that I even sang a song! Hooray!
p.s. I hope she can follow Bambi and don't go off food for months again next year...
