Remember my girl, Spike, that was bred at 5 months by accident?
You'll find it interesting to note that, though her first clutch were water balloons, the second are candling a deep red and were due to hatch anywhere between yesterday and two weeks from yesterday (there was a weird temp flux and the incubator went from incubating at a steady 80 to a steady 84 so I really don't know how many days--am giving it 45-58 days, the 45th day being yesterday) Anyway, there's life in there! And the second clutch she laid a few days ago, beautiful bullseyes in both of them.
My female that was bred at 9 months, Morgan, had her first and second clutches fail almost completely (there's still one egg I have hope for--due to hatch around the same time as Spike's second clutch) and her third clutch isnt looking too good either.
Who'd have thought a young juvie would be a better breeder than an adult? I'm still holding out hope for Morgan, though. Hopefully her next clutch will be as beautiful as Spike's.
