Your opinion on petsore leos

I was at a ***** earlier this week to pick up some mealies and I usually stop by and check out what pets they have in stock. Well I went to go look at the leos and every single one of them was morbidly skinny. Maybe they had parisites because they had a full dish of mealies because I could see their hip bones and tail bones. ewww.....

Those ones I would not get at all. You can get some nice ones I would just have as pets in those type of big chain pet stores. If you want to breed or thinking about breeding, buy from a breeder.

I would certainly not buy any unhealthy-looking leo from a chain pet store. (I'm not sure who would; they're dirt cheap but they often look disgusting or worse.) A lot of breeders sell normals and high yellows for not much more than you'd find at the chains. Go with a reputable breeder!

When I worked at ***** I would pull dead or sick leos out all the time.
Biggest reason why I dont work there anymore.

Yeah, personally I got my first gecko from a chain store. They took care of all the leos, and mine is still fine. But if I saw something like that, I would have to walk off. You buy those leos, and then more will have to be put in their place. Which means more will have to suffer. In my opinion, supporting that habit (by buying the geckos), is just as bad as neglecting those leos yourself.
