Your worst odds

What are your worst odds when doing somthing where you have a 50% chance of getting the desired trait?
Like mack X normal or het albino X albino?

I mean without deaths., like say you do mack X normal and get 2/15 macks, that would be bad

These are all the pairings I did last year...

My first pairing was Mack Snow Pastel het Bell x Blizzard.

Got eight good eggs... Results...

2.2 Het Blizzard 50% het Bell
3.1 Mack Snow het Blizzard 50% het Bell

A perfect ratio!

I had planned on making several Mack Snow Bells and Mack Snows het Bell... For starters two of the four Bell females I was breeding to my Mack Snow Pastel het Bell never became receptive and another only laid duds...

I wound up getting ten good eggs... Results...

- 1.3 Het Bell
- 1.0 Mack Snow het Bell
- 3.2 Bell
- 1.0 Mack Snow Bell

The albino to normal ratio was about right, but I got horrible Mack Snow odds...

From my Tangerine Bell x SHTCT het Bell pairing I got thirteen good eggs... Results...

- 3.5 Bell
- 2.3 Het Bell

This pairing almost doubled the albino to normal ratio!

you can count odds as much as you want. but not every season will one gecko lay, lets say 20 eggs. but lets say they do and for that season you get ALL normal that would really suck )% of the desired trait per female. and it can happen too even though one may be a albino and one het albino. sometimes thats how the odds go. dont trust odds

A lot of people also do not realize the odds are per egg and after each egg hatches the odds start back at the beginning. For example: say you're breeding DH Bell Blazing Blizzards together and you get 16 eggs... Just because you have 16 eggs it doesn't mean you'll hit on a 1/16 combo. Every egg has a 1/16 chance of being a BBB.

Very true....but if you take a large enough sample it would even out to the stats. Unless you're talking about certain traits like a Bell Blizzard ... now there's one that hasn't worked out!

there is always a chance when working with hets and codom traits that the "odds" wont work out
