i am so in love with these guys. they are central american banded geckos (Coleonyx mitratus). these guys were under their cork hides and i decided to snap a quick photo. they have the cutest faces! they are a very cool geckos to keep. right now i have them set up very basic until they grow up a tad and get a bit more size on them :)

I'm thinking about getting a trio myself, how do you have them set up? I REALLY want. Coleonyx elegans, but that species is really hard to find now that Marcia has sold her collection. ;_;

right now i have them set up in a ten gallon. moist hides on both sides. cork bark hides on both sides 85 warm side and room temp on the other. i have rocks to hide behind as well. they have a shallow water dish and i feed them crickets and mealies. right now they are on a paper towel substrate. it is imperative to make sure they have humid hides if you keep them on paper towels. once i get these guys good and established i will put them on coco fiber or something similar. you also have to make sure they have plenty of places to hide. these guys are strictly nocturnal

elegans are not really as hard to get as you might think

Robin, I haven't seen them for sale at all this year. If you've got a hot lead I'd love to have it! ;-) Especially for the striped C. elegans Marcia had.
