1 egg laid

One of our females was digging around in the lay box last night, checked it tonight and found 1 egg, but only 1. It's not brilliant white like our other ones have been, and somewhat large and spongy. Still put it in the incubator. My question is how often does the only 1 egg thing happen? Our female in question is 65 grams, age not sure got her as adult already.

I am wandering if the normal 2 eggs laid change as they get older...not in there prime?

I read in one of our books that as the female gets older they sometimes lay only 1. Not positive if this still holds true...it was an older book ( 1994 i think).

One of my first timers layed a single egg clutch this year. It was a double egg clutch but I think one egg busted inside the female as I found the empty shell case on the floor of the moist hide but no residue from the egg. In her next two poops there was a considerable amount of yellowish material in the fecal matter. She seems OK now and I think she has another set of eggs on the go...

I think single egg clutches are common...

Me too!! I was thinking the same exact thing about my girl.

Interesting...we'll I guess if we have an 1 egger we have a 1 egger. I know our other females are 2 eggers.

Yeah I feel like I read the same thing...
