I have a cracked 10 gallon that I don't know what to do with. I want to put a gecko that can live in it their whole life, that doesn't need heating and is okay with some sunlight.:help: Any ideas?

10 gallon tanks are inexpensive and easy to replace for a gecko. We use a few cracked tanks for feeder groups like mice. A cracked one, even for an arboreal species, like a crested or gargoyle, could possible be repaired with silicone to eliminate any sharp glass crevices. They require no heat and are fine with a daily window light cycle. You can stand it on end and have nice climbing areas they need. However, NO reptiles can be safely kept in a tank exposed to sunlight hitting the glass.

If you use a cracked tank for a gecko, make sure it's stability isn't compromised.

A crested gecko or garg would be fine until its around 15 grams then it would need an upgrade to a bigger tank

hmmmm get some silicone or liquid glass and do whatever, if the cracks not too low or is on just one side maybe make a firebelly toad, frog, salamander, newt or so on tank. Also a crestie wouldnt stay long in a 10gal. Also its true that theya ll need heat but not all of them need a ton. Cresties dont normaly require AF heating unless your house is cold. thye can do fine at 80.

I've considered what you suggested but my house can get hot at times. Maybe a tarantula or carnivorous plants.

AHH i ment a crestie WOULDNT stay in a 10gal long opps typos = dangerous at times. A T would look nice or maybe a praying mantis? ORRRRR what abouts a feeder colony for your other pets, you could do roaches, mealies, crickets or anything in there.

If you want something that can live its whole life in a 10 gallon and doesn't require heating (provided that your place is at least room temperature), then I'd definitely suggest a tarantula. Most are voracious eaters with many making great display pets!

I've searched up scorpions but decided not to. I put feeders in one tank and the other one will be an extra tank for cleaning days or for more feeders.

No Rhac species is going to live comfortably in a ten gallon as an adult. Unless you can keep temps in the mid-high 70s, your options are pretty limited with reptiles. Most species that require no heat don't do well at higher temps, and those that do require heat need gradient, which is very hard to provide in something as small as a ten gallon. My advice is go with a spider.

So no heating correct. Theres a few animals you could do if you had heating but oh well. I was thinking viper tails but they do require heat if im not mistaken.

I can get heating. Also, my house can go from about 62F to 90F( Usually 66F-82). Rarely does it go that high or low but I've seen it. I want Fire Bellied Toads but my house obviously gets too warm. Maybe if I check the basement temps...

I think it would be wiser to research, and get an animal you want with a tank suited for the species, rather then try to get an animal to fit your $10 cracked tank. Just my 2cents.
