Pretty sad that some animals have to live like this. Store name and Location will not be released. This is what i seen when i had to go pick up some calcium...

Yes there were 23 geckos in the enclosure. All of them arent shown in this picture. :main_thumbsdown:

That is so sad. I am pretty sure what store that is just by looking at the set up. It's too bad that even if you complain, probably nothing will be done.

you are right... i couldn't do anything and nothing could be done seeing that they are a corporate company and could hire some powerful lawyers to defend themselves from animal activists.

You do realize places like this wont have thoughs geckos for very long, couple weeks at the most. So, the short time the geckos are in there, there wont be much of an effect on them. From the pictures, the geckos look healthy. They probably just received them and most will be gone in a week.

You have to look at it from there standpoint... They are a company. They cant supply 25 geckos with the perfect environment (tank size specifically). They are in it to make money. They don't want dead geckos as much as you do. So, they are looking for the most cost effective way to house 25 geckos for a short time.

Im not defending, commending, or other things that end in "ing". You just need to look at it from there standpoint.

I've seen the same thing. Yes, the enclosure is small, but the geckos choose to crowd themselves like that. Not defending the pet store either but I can only hope that they get sold ASAP so they aren't in such crowded conditions. ::crossing fingers::

Um, i'm going to go out on a limb here and say that I don't think the geckos choose to crowd themselves together. I'm pretty sure it's more like they have to, to be able to thermoregulate even just a little bit b/c the store doesn't provide a heat source.

Your right! I think we all know what store this is. The heat system they have is completely inadequate for terrestrial reptiles, no direct heat source it's more like a central air heating system in homes. They have one central heating unit that provides heat for all the reptiles in that apartment style display. Sad!:(

I went to a ***** nearby and saw the exact same thing. At least 30 baby leos crammed in a 10 gallon enclosure. They had no water and only one hide to cram into. There was poop everywhere and most of the babies were thin and had stuck sheds. It made me so angry seeing this!

Actually as a former employee of a corporate store (not the chain in the photo) I can you that they don't sell as many as you may think. I worked at two different stores, one being in a wealthier and very busy location, and we sold maybe one a or two reptiles (not just leos but reptiles as a whole) a week. Some would be there for several months before someone finally bought them. I adopted my Blue Tongue from them. He has been there so long that he developed MBD from improper lighting and diet and they could no longer sell him.

i have seen like that. In my (you know worst pet store) ***co

I have seen like about 15 has skinny tails

When I went to buy my first leo they was all heatlhy and have fat tail which they look like newborn, 3 months later I remebered i kept see dead leos when i go to buy retiple carpet with my aunt. probably 3 dead leos. they are so skinny i can see their bones and ribs. make me sad. I could just go tell people to do something about this so They could not care about animals. I feel bad for them. Sometimes they could make them in sale . Normal Price 29 dollar now sale is 17 dollar. What the Heck? Poor leos. :(
