At 82 degrees they shouldn't be denting yet. Usually they dent a few days before hatching but you should have another couple weeks.

Instead of having them half way buried and half exposed, bury the eggs completely and put a moist not wet paper towel ontop of the incubation medium. ONLY leave this on for 12 hours or so or it'll start to mold. If it works it will improve the eggs so as they won't be as dented. Hope it works for you. Good luck

I would try to check the temp inside your incubation cups or whatever because if your really incubating at 82 then you should be hatching around 55-60 days. It's probably hotter inside the container and why your hatching at 48days. It sound that this set is on track to hatch around the same time as your first clutch but they should not be oily. Post some pictures and we'll be able to help you better.

NAZ -Are u saying on the first clutch you incubated them at 82 degrees and they hatched at 48 days?i use a hovobator incubator set for 82 degrees.its not that much hotter in the actual container where the eggs are in.For the eggs to hatch at 48 days your looking at a temp of 88-90 degrees? i think its the medium.Did u dampen the medium? .Is your temp probe working?

yes,i incubate them at 82F and hatch on 48-49 days.I use vermiculite and mix with water until it can make small ball and i squeeze until have a couple of water drop from the vermiculite..i dont know wherether the temp. work or not but avery day i set it 82F to produce female..

your dates are not matching the temps. Your probably running hotter than whatever form of monitoring the temp is showing you. How are you monitoring the temp?

It's normal for them to dent days before hatching. Mine do this anywhere from a week to a day before. As for the plump oily ones, pics would be needed, sound like those may be no good. But keep cooking them and see if they hatch.

The first thought that pops into my head is it's a bad egg, but I've seen worse eggs hatch from my own experience. Play it safe "when in doubt hatch it out !" You also mentioned 82 degrees as your incubation temperature which would put you a least ten to twelve days a head of schedule with your incubated time frame assuming your temperature and counting is correct. Good luck and keep us posted.:main_thumbsup:

I hatched eggs in previous seasons in 49-55 days using a digital thermometer with probe. The probe was on top of the incubation container.
