I would not breed them because they may have problems putting weight back on between clutches or after breeding/laying is done... Both sexes lose weight during breeding season... Some males seem to ''fast'' during breeding season... This year I had a 106 gram male drop down to 79 grams... It's common for females to lose 15-20 grams during breeding season... If either is female there could also be problems with egg production... It's not worth the risk... :main_no:

Temperature fluctuations are well known to cause deformities... Since all six babies that have hatched from the pairing since are fine and growing better than average I stand firm that their problems are not genetic, but were caused by the mishap...

All of that aside, Haley adopted them as pets so there should be no worries... :main_thumbsup:

I wasn't suggesting she should try breeding them, I was curious as to what about the situation made them unsuitable...thanks for your clarification. I know that fluctuations can cause minor eyelid/tail/toe problems all the way up to internal organ and skeleton deformities, incompatible with life. I was just wondering that if these two came out mostly unscathed, could you breed them maybe at 2 or 3 years old. But you have cleared that up, and I hope I wasn't coming across in an objectionable manner.

Anywhoozle, I think they're gorgeous! Merry Christmas!
