I'm sure you can't register the vehicles in TX until you have a TX driver's licence...am I right?
EXACTLY! Which is so damn frustrating because you need one before the other despite not having either one first!

I guess I'm supposed to sell my cars first, then get a DL, then re-purchase the cars and have them titled in TX. ...or something like that. ;)

Good news.

I met up with a friend of mine who used to do medical shit for the Navy (I really don't know what it's called) and he looked at my hand for me. I wish HE had put my stitches in because he at least knew what the fuck he was talking about. I thought when the PA stitched me up that there should have been subcutaneous stitches in the dermis since I had sliced all the way through it but didn't ask any questions at the time. Anyway, my friend said that's exactly what should have been done--dissolving "scissor stitches" in the dermis and then the removable stitches on top. That's why it didn't heal properly (apparently). He said it didn't look too bad and that "fixing" it would be really easy/painless but would require some more stitches. So, that's going to be first on my agenda when I get back to TX.

SINCE I FINALLY GOT MY DRIVER'S LICENSE.

I kinda had to um... lie. And I sorta flirted with the girl at the DMV but I don't know if that helped or not. She may have just wanted to get me to leave. Oh well.

Phew.

So anyway, I'm going to get rested up tonight and head for Texas tomorrow because the weather is supposed to turn to shit here Saturday. I should be home Saturday afternoon but since I've never managed to get anywhere on time in the last six months I wouldn't bet on it. :main_laugh:

Fuck I don't even know.

Probably Iowa. :main_laugh:

Paul, sounds like things are looking up? I hope that you can find someone competent to re-stich your hand.

Yep, I gotta say they're starting to improve.

As soon as I get back to TX I'm going to call the PA at the ER who put my stitches in and tell her what happened and ask her what to do. I really don't want to have to pay full charge for whatever it is I end up needing done after paying as much as I did for the dang stitches.

Since they put the stitches in incorrectly, I would just ask for supervisors until you don't have to pay anything at all. They shouldn't charge you twice for their mistake. Glad you got a license, it would be funny if it was an Iowa license. You've spent as much time there as anywhere else this year. lol

That's great, Paul! I'm glad you got a new license! Too bad you're an Iowa driver, now though. :main_lipsrsealed:

Have a great trip this weekend - drive carefully!!

Thanks, Nancy. I'm going to be leaving here by Noon so that I can avoid the snowstorm that's headed into the area. Brrrrrrrrr it is so cold here. I can't wait to get back to Texas. I just looked at the forecast for Denton and it's supposed to be in the low 70s Sat/Sun!!! Then my blood can start flowing again ;) This week has been a good reminder of WHY I moved. lol

I just wished you would have a) not sliced off a digit, and b) gotten back sooner so you and Kelli could have come down here to enjoy the real Mexican food and great "Donkey-rittas" (way strong margaritas) that Jeanne and I just enjoyed. Have a safe trip home!
