Ok so, I previously bought a 56 gallon a long time ago.. and now ive thought to use this as my Leo tank.

i was thinking of 2-3 females and 1 male?

I thought this would be adequate since the tank is of a larger scale

my only bit of advice i thought id ask is;

Should i keep the 2-3 females in the 56 gal alone and introduce the male in Breeding season

OR

should it just be perfectly fine to house them altogether as a group

OR

should i wait until the females are mature to introduce my male?

any advice shall be appreciated:main_thumbsup:

Regards

wait until the females are mature so you dont have any mishaps, but then i'd leave the male in all year round. They'll get tired of each other eventually and the male will stop pestering the ladies lol

Yea, probably wait until everyone is at a size where they could begin to breed. I believe people tend to like weights of 50-55 grams before breeding. But after that, in a tank that large, I would imagine that you could house them as a group. There should be plenty of space for them to hide from each other.

I second that - the males do get tired of the girls after a while, so they can be kept in all year round.

So even if i do keep him in all year round and he begins to tire of the femalesi will guess he will still breed with them ?

Cheers

Before breeding season you might have to separate them for a week or so to get them interested again. But then they should breed fine
