That is what I was trying to let people know...

yeah i could trust any of my family with my gecko i have enigmas and raptors ect... and they think that its just a geckos,its more than a gecko its a family member to me!

There's also a lot to be said about talking to people about what you're interested in. I found out almost by accident that a friend of mine had worked with the animal exhibit at the museum of science and she is very capable of taking care of my geckos when I go away. I went to Australia for 2 weeks a few years ago and she did a great job. Another friend is into fish and loves the geckos but doesn't have enough room for one, so he will pitch in as needed. If you start talking to people you know about the geckos, you may find some surprise enthusiasts who can help out later.
