a question for snow and enigma fans

I only ask because I have no idea. I bred a snow bell male to an enigma female. This is the first clutch that hatched. I know the enigma isnt a snow or an albino but is the other baby and albino? a Snow? or neither? Thanks for helping me out.

It looks like a regular Bell to me. I don't think it's a snow since it has quite a bit of yellow in the body. I guess that means your Engima is het bell. :main_huh:

that looks like a bell albino correct? Thats what I think as well. So the female enigma is het bell. Shouldnt there have been a snow in there though or does it not always show in a single clutch? Thanks.

the first one looks a Bell albino te me, dont think its snow bell
second is Enigma

so i gues your enigma is Het. bell?

it s not necessary to have a snow in one clutch

A Mack Snow should produce 50% snows and 50% normals. The same I believe goes for the Enigma (some one correct me if I'm wrong). So right now it's just chance on what you will get. The next one that hatches could be a Mack Snow Enigma Bell Albino for all we know. Or you could a plain normal that would be 100% het for bell albino.

Definitely a regular Bell. We haven't hatched any regular Enigmas but I'm pretty sure you're right about that one. The Snow Bells for our Snow Bell X Enigma het Bell crossing have hatched looking almost a grayish purple color and white. The one in our avatar is a Snow Bell Enigma. It's really weird looking in person, the whole body has that ghostly gray color, so the red eyes are pretty creepy!

Usually those odds work themselves out pretty nicely though Mike...so, hopefully you have a nice snow Bell and/or Snow Bell Enigma in the next clutch. Nice hatchlings there, by the way!

Beautiful babies!! I agree with everyone else, the first looks like a regular bell albino, the second is an enigma. Here's to hoping for a lovely snow enigma next time for ya. ;)

Beautiful Geckos Mike! Here is the break down of all the possibilities:

6.25% Mack Snow Bell Enigma
6.25% Mack Snow Bell
18.75% Mack Snow 67% het Bell
18.75% Mack Snow Enigma 67% het Bell
6.25% Bell Albino
18.75% Normal 67% het Bell
6.25% Bell Enigma
18.75% Enigma 67% het Bell

Best of luck with the project... lots of possibilities!

For the ones which are 67% het Bell. There is a 2 in 3 chance the babies will be het bell. There is a 1 in 3 chance they will not be het Bell. Since there is no way to tell which ones are hets and which aren't is why we have the 67% het Bell

Hey Mike, I misread the original post I thought the Dad was het as well as the mother... here is the updated projections:

12.5% Mack Snow Bell Enigma
12.5% Mack Snow Enigma 100% het Bell
12.5% Mack Snow Bell
12.5% Mack Snow 100% het Bell
12.5% Bell Albino
12.5% Normal 100% het Bell
12.5% Bell Enigma
12.5% Enigma 100% het Bell

all the babies would be het albino in this situation. I'm not great with the Gecko Gentics but I am very up to speed with general recessive traits. If either of the parents are albino(dad is a snow bell), when bred to a non albino all of the non albino offspring will be definate hets for albino correct? Thanks
