Our gecko- New York - who has been stolen, sick ( i brought him up from deaths door) and came from CT to NC to GA with me. . . .has gone missing.

He's my first 'special' morph gecko- an Tremper Sunglow that I got at a show when they first came out...

I'm Devistated. I keep going over everything I did... I weighed him and put him back in his tub and moved on. the tub had no cracks that he could escape ect.... i have no idea how this happened.

Plus, we didnt notice till last night ( about 16 hrs after I cleaned/weighed) and we have three cats. I'm scared for him. we did find a poop next to the closet so there is some hope left for him... but im not sure how much.

I dont have the money to 'replace' him ... not that I could ... but he was our number one guy for this seasons breedings.

I have a 20 on its side with a heat pad on the back and one on the bottom hoping to entice him... theres mealies in there too... we have all tile and wood floors so im sure he'll be heat seeking..but so far nothing ( overnight).

Im so sad... my fiance is too.

I'm so sorry to hear that one of your favorite and most beloved geckos has gone missing! I hope for the best for you two and that he is found very soon. They really like to hide in some strange places sometimes, I would start looking underneath everything, or anywhere where he could possibly hide. Don't rule out small areas, as they can pretty much squeeze through just about anything.

Phew! we found him...

day two of tearing the house appart with no yeilds or leads...then I checked the 'trap' for the 10th time since noon and he was there, between the repti capet and the heat pad!

Sly guy.

But all is fine- thanks for the tips!

I am pretty sure that he somehow got out of his tub. We've since closed that slot on the rack system ( it had a crack on the side that we think compromised the fit ontop of the plastic tray allowing him to squeeze out) ...

but due to his value to us and his slyness ... he's living in a 20 gallon for life.
