A substitute?!

Headed out to the local pet store with the family to get a couple of goldfish. Can't have an aquarium set up and running with no fish, right? Haha As we are walking down the fish supply isle, on our way to the reptile section, my husband offhandedly says "Well, these will substitute for a leo, right?". WHAT?! I stopped mid waddle and just stared at him. Well, more of a glare really. Haha He stopped and looked at me, sighed, and said "That's what I thought." Ohhh to know someone so well words are not needed. Hahaha I think he was trying to get one over on the pregnant one. Did he honestly think he could say that and I would agree? Haha Never!!

Later that night, out of the blue, he says "I'm also assuming ONE leo will only be good for so long?" I just smiled and asked "What makes you say that, babe?" He laughs, shakes his head and said "Because I KNOW you......and I want dart frogs." Hahaha I said "I knew it!" I saw him eyeballing a water fall and just knew he was thinking about those frogs. Haha We are two peas in a pod. It's always good to be married to someone who knows you so well and like similar things to you, and vice versa.

Now to decide what morph I want to start off with. Ha! This isn't going to be easy. I wont be buying anything until I have everything set up and I can monitor the temps for a bit. Its just soooooo hard looking at leos and not knowing if the one you REALLY like is going to still be there when you are ready. Its torture to wait.

I know the feeling. If you can get to a reptile show when you're ready then you'll have a whole lot of choices right in front of you.

I'm in a small town. I honestly don't know where or when the closest reptile show will be. I'm also a bit gun shy buying at a show. Unless its from a well known breeder. I had a horrible experience the last time I bought from a show. I guess I'll just have to start emailing breeders to see what they have. Possibly put one on hold? Make payments to secure what I want until I'm satisfied with my set up? Unless I find a reptile show that will be within a reasonable driving distance and reputable breeders will be there.

Thanks! That helps a lot. Seems there is a show on the 25th that is withing a reasonable driving distance to me. Same weekend my husband has a mud run and in the same area. It was meant to be! haha Thanks again for that link.

No problem I'm happy it helps. It seems it was meant to be lol now your husband can run in mud and you can get a lizard. It works out for everyone lol. You definitely have to keep us updated when you get your lizard and show us a lot of pictures.

Both of the reptile shows I'm planning to attend this fall already have their vendor lists up on their websites. You could research the vendors before hand or just look them up on the phone when you're there at the show.
